The officers of the
department are called "line officers". This is because
when the alarm sounds they are the first in line to direct the
firefighters in the operations of the emergency at hand. Other tasks
that they are responsible for include the daily checking of all their |

assigned company equipment for
leaks, breaks and anything that may hinder the effort at hand. Other
duties include the preparation for the yearly budget for the chiefs,
training of the firefighter rank in all aspects, developing drills for
training purposes & heading committees within the department |
