The  officers of the department are called "line officers".  This is because when the alarm sounds they are the first in line to direct the firefighters in the operations of the emergency at hand.  Other tasks that they are responsible for include the daily checking of all their

assigned company equipment for leaks, breaks and anything that may hinder the effort at hand.  Other duties include the preparation for the yearly budget for the chiefs, training of the firefighter rank in all aspects, developing drills for training purposes & heading committees within the department

Joined the department in 1993. Spending 2 years as a Lieutenant and 2 years as a Captain. Sal is married with 3 children & has achieved "Advanced Fire Fighter 1997", "Officer of the year" 1999 and  NG Community Service Award 99',00', 01'

Joined the department in December of 1995. Spent 2 years as a Lieutenant. Rick is married with 2 children and has achieved "Fireman of the Year" 1998 & "Officer of the Year" 2000

Joined the department in 1996. Spent 2 years as a Lieutenant. Bill is married with 3 children. Bill is also the General Manager of the Inn @ Quogue
