The chiefs
of the BF Dep are not only responsible for
the safety of the firefighters at an emergency. They do a whole
lot more! The Chiefs direct every administrative task within the
department. They are often caught up in the works of a yearly budget
& setting time aside |

to go to
social events with surrounding department chiefs. The chiefs are
doing far more work behind the scenes then most people know. There
are many times a chief will take time out of his busy schedule to meet
with village leaders, hold meetings to discuss the current activities in
the department & Respond to every call that comes in. |

Joined the department in 1989.
Spent 1 year as a Lieutenant, 2 years as a Captain, 2 years 3rd asst
chief, 2 years 2nd asst chief, 2 years 1st asst chief. Married with 2
children, Shawn Jr and Peter. Started the WHBFD Dive team,
President of the Southampton Town Chiefs Association and helped start
the SCBA program.

Responsible for re-organizing the WHBFD Water Rescue program with basic
certification requirements for rescue divers to be NFPA certified &
OSHA public safety scuba diver level 1 |
